- Yes: public App Store apps, your own private apps, and volume-purchased licenses through Apple Business Manager.
- Yes. Appaloosa uses Apple's declarative device management for software updates: you pin a target version and an enforcement date, and the device drives the update itself and reports its state in real time. Users get notified ahead of the deadline instead of meeting a 60 second countdown. This is now the only supported path on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, where Apple removed the legacy update commands.

You group devices by use, not by model, and each group carries its own restrictions, app catalog and update policy.
