Microsoft 365 Business Premium includes Intune Plan 1, but not Intune Plan 2, Remote Help or Advanced Analytics: since July 1, 2026, those three options are included in Microsoft 365 E3 and remain paid add-ons on Business Premium. For a fleet of iPhones, iPads and Android phones, the question is what your license already covers, what to keep on Intune, and what an MDM built first for mobile can add.
This article is for IT leads, or the one person who runs everything, at a small or mid-sized company on Business Premium. It does not say that Intune cannot manage a phone: according to Microsoft, Plan 1 is the foundation of the service for devices and apps. It shows what that foundation leaves as a paid option.
Microsoft prices were read on November 3, 2026 on Microsoft's US pages, in US dollars, per user per month, billed annually. Appaloosa prices are in euros, excluding VAT, per device per month. Nothing is converted between the two currencies. Your exact entitlements depend on your contract, so have your Microsoft reseller confirm what you bought.

What does Microsoft 365 Business Premium include for Intune?
The table follows Microsoft's announcement on changes to its licenses (Microsoft Licensing, published February 16, 2026).
| License | Price (USD) | Intune Plan 1 | Intune Plan 2 | Remote Help | Advanced Analytics | EPM, Cloud PKI, App Management |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Premium (your case) | $22.00 | Included | Paid option | Paid option | Paid option | Paid option |
| Intune Plan 1 alone | $8.00 | Included | Paid option | Paid option | Paid option | Paid option |
| Microsoft 365 E3 | $39.00 | Included | Included | Included | Included | Paid option |
| Microsoft 365 E5 | $60.00 | Included | Included | Included | Included | Included |
"Included" for Plan 2, Remote Help and Advanced Analytics in E3 and E5, and for EPM, Cloud PKI and Enterprise Application Management in E5, applies since July 1, 2026. Prices were read on November 3, 2026 on Microsoft US: Intune pricing (E3, E5) and pricing for small and medium businesses (Business Premium, Plan 1 alone; up to 300 users).
When they are not included, the options are paid per user per month and require an Intune Plan 1 subscription:
| Intune option | Price (USD, per user per month) |
|---|---|
| Intune Plan 2 | $4.00 |
| Remote Help | $3.50 |
| Advanced Analytics | $5.00 |
| Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM) | $3.00 |
| Microsoft Cloud PKI | $2.00 |
| Enterprise Application Management | $2.00 |
One point to check with your reseller: Microsoft Learn presents Remote Help and Advanced Analytics as capabilities of Intune Plan 2, while the US pricing page sells them on separate lines. Ask what exactly you are buying before budgeting for both.
What should you keep on Intune with Business Premium?
Intune Plan 1 is already paid for in your license. There is no reason to remove it for Windows PCs or for access to Microsoft resources. Three uses stay on Intune:
- Windows PCs. Intune is the reference for native Windows management, with Win32 app deployment and Windows Autopilot. Appaloosa also manages Windows PCs and supports Windows Autopilot and Entra ID join. Your PCs can stay on Intune, already paid for in your license.
- Entra conditional access. Allowing or blocking access to Microsoft 365 based on device and user state is a strength of Intune with Entra ID. Appaloosa does not offer conditional access.
- App protection without enrollment. Intune can protect apps on a device that is not enrolled. Appaloosa does not: its devices are enrolled, whether company-owned or BYOD.
The split is therefore simple: the iOS and Android mobile fleet moves to Appaloosa, conditional access stays on Intune, and Windows PCs can stay there too. These are two consoles, not an integration: no technical integration between the two tools is promised here.
What can Appaloosa add on iPhone, iPad and Android?
Appaloosa distributes your apps, enrolls company devices with no hands-on setup, and manages personal phones within a strictly professional scope. In practice, on the Appaloosa MDM:
- A private app store. Your in-house iOS, Android, Windows and macOS apps are published in a private enterprise store, next to public apps. The Business plan includes up to 25 apps; Enterprise has no limit.
- Enrollment without touching the device. iPhones and iPads bought for the company enroll automatically through Apple Business Manager. On Android, enrollment accepts zero-touch, QR code, token and Samsung Knox (KME). Public Android apps go through Managed Google Play.
- Enforced OS updates. You enforce an iOS or Android update with a deadline: past that deadline, the device shows as non-compliant and can be denied access to company resources.
- Kiosk mode. On iPhone and iPad, kiosk mode locks the device to a single app; on Android, it turns the device into a dedicated device. It is included in the Business plan, with no add-on, and does not exist on Windows or macOS.
- Remote support. Remote support (TeamViewer) is included in the Advanced Add-On, at +€1 excl. VAT per device per month on Business, and in the Enterprise plan. No TeamViewer license has to be bought separately. It works on iOS, Android and Windows, not on macOS. On the Microsoft side, Remote Help is a paid option on top of Plan 1.
BYOD, without touching privacy
On iPhone, BYOD goes through an enrollment link: a management profile limited to work apps and accounts, no managed Apple ID required, and selective wipe. The console only sees managed apps. On Android, work data lives in the work profile, an encrypted container kept apart from personal data. For the regulatory side, see our article on the best MDM for NIS2 and BYOD in Europe.
Day to day, the console also covers silent app installs, an inventory of apps and OS versions, enforced passcodes, jailbreak and root detection, Wi-Fi and VPN profiles, and remote lock and wipe with a wipe log.

The two price lists cannot be read line by line: Microsoft bills per user, Appaloosa per device, and one user can have several devices. We therefore calculate no savings. Appaloosa's public prices, read on November 3, 2026 on the pricing page, are the same on iOS, Android, Windows and macOS:
| Appaloosa plan | Price (EUR excl. VAT, per device per month) | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Business (from 50 devices) | €3.49 | Up to 25 apps, zero-touch, private app store, kiosk mode, OS updates, security and encryption. Under 50 devices: on quote. |
| Advanced Add-On | +€1.00 | Remote support (TeamViewer), contacts and file sync. |
| Enterprise | €5.99 | Everything in Business, Advanced Add-On included, unlimited apps, SSO and directory, priority support with a contractual SLA, 4 hours of admin training. |
To compare with your own numbers:
- Count the users who would need a Microsoft option, then multiply by its monthly price.
- Count the mobile devices to manage with Appaloosa, then multiply by the price of the plan you choose.
- Set the result against the features you actually use.
Reading example for Appaloosa alone: 50 devices on Business, at €3.49, come to €174.50 excl. VAT per month. These public prices should be checked again before any purchase decision; cancellation is monthly.
How do you move a phone from Intune to Appaloosa?
For a phone already enrolled in Intune, migration takes two steps: unenroll from Intune, then enroll in Appaloosa. The two tools do not coexist on the same device.
- Pick the devices. List the iPhones, iPads and Android devices currently under Intune. Windows PCs stay where they are.
- Unenroll. Remove the device from Intune.
- Enroll. Enroll it in Appaloosa (automatic, QR, BYOD link), then assign apps and policies.
Before deciding, ask yourself five questions: how many mobile devices do you manage, and how many belong to employees? How do your in-house apps reach phones today? Do you have an Apple Business Manager account and a Managed Google Play account? Who supports your mobile users, and with what remote tools? What data from your teams passes through these devices, and where must it be hosted? For the full picture, read our comparison of Appaloosa and Microsoft Intune.
Where is your mobile fleet data hosted?
Appaloosa is a French software publisher. Its service is hosted by Scalingo on Outscale infrastructure, an ISO 27001-certified host. The certification belongs to the host, not to Appaloosa. For your own risk analysis, the hosting provider's certification is one element, and the jurisdiction that applies to your fleet data is another. Microsoft is a US company: ask your security officer or legal counsel what each provider's hosting and jurisdiction mean for your mobile fleet data.
Try Appaloosa on your own phones
To try it in practice, the 14-day free trial needs no credit card and no commitment: enroll a few devices, publish an app, try BYOD. Your Windows PCs and conditional access stay on Intune in the meantime. Prefer to talk first? Book a demo.
