Belfius is the only integrated bank and insurance company that is 100% Belgian. They offer a full range of banking and insurance products to retail customers, small and medium-sized enterprises, public institutions, non-profit organizations, and large corporates.
The Belfius mobile team was no longer satisfied with their testing tool features. Whether on iOS or Android, the long and tedious periods of testing have motivated Hervé Gérard and his team to study more suitable products for testing and validation of mobile applications.
First of all, the team wanted to be able to test internally Android and iOS apps developed for public stores. The second requirement was important for the developer team to find their nightly builds the next day directly on an application store available to internal teams of twenty testers.
Thirdly, it was necessary for testers from outside the company to have access to new versions before their deployment to the public stores.
Finally, not only did outsiders need to access the store, it was essential for the tool to be as easy as possible to use by any of their clients (testers) without requiring complex install process.
Appaloosa enables Belfius’ in-house testing team to automatically deploy new versions of apps to the test app store via a seamless integration system. Then, depending on the case, the applications are made available on the professional and/or personal devices of their beta testers community.
Since 2015, Appaloosa is integrated into their environment.
Thanks to the app store, the teams were able to set up daily tests via the continuous integration of Jenkins.
This simplifies and speeds up the testing and validation of apps, all for a shortened time to market.
Also, bug reports for apps deployed on the Appaloosa store are directly related to Jira (ticket creation web service for bugs) which gives developers more agility and speed in their development.
