As many of you know, Android now enables mobile app managers to use a special configuration – called a Work Profile – on Android devices to better control their deployment strategy. It creates a work-dedicated and secure partition on the device, that does not mix with personal-related data.
A work profile works with all Android 5.0 Lollipop and later, with a google account and google play installed.
2 years after first Android Enterprise (AE) setups for clients, Appaloosa still holds dear this configuration. It is remarkably compliant with our BYOD vision and expertise, since it allows an IT department to securely manage a work environment without restricting users from using their personal apps and data.
EMM players, though, are not totally familiar with the technical setup of such an environment.
To go along with our clients’ needs, Appaloosa now offers a clean AE setup and management interface. Lately, we secured the online configuration with our support team. A proper setup with your Google Service Account should be up in 2 hours. We worked hard on synchronizing Google Play for Work with your Appaloosa back-office, in particular with permissions management. We also unlocked the possibility to distribute weblinks on a AE-enrolled device.
